UCGHI STUDENT AMBASSADOR PROGRAM NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS The University of California Global Health Institute is seeking applicants across all 10 UC campuses and partnering with Historically Black College and University (HBCU), Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, for its 2020-2021 Student Ambassador Program. This leadership opportunity is open to all students (i.e., undergraduate, graduate, medical, nursing, law, etc.) who are dedicated to personal and professional growth by serving and representing their respective UC or HBCU campus. UCGHI Student Ambassadors will develop, organize, and promote Women's Health, Gender, and Empowerment (WHGE) or Planetary Health (PH) activities on UC campuses and mobilize student, faculty and staff involvement to catalyze critical change. Students will receive a $250 stipend. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to engage with key faculty, researchers, and leaders in either PH or WHGE while also strengthening professional networks. Volunteer Night at the Food Bank*Thursday, October 10, 2019, 6:00 - 8:00 PM Join fellow campus members on the second Thursday of each month for UC San Diego Volunteer Night at the Food Bank. Volunteers help with projects such as packaging fresh produce, sorting food donations and assembling food packages. CGI U - IBM Call for Code HackathonFriday, May 17 - Saturday, May 18, 2019 Hosted from May 17-18 on campus, this collaborative event will challenge university students from all backgrounds to develop solutions for global distaster response and resilience efforts. Students will be given access to IBM technical resources and topic experts, and winning teams will receive cash prizes and the opportunity to send a member to the next CGI University meeting.
