Teaching + Learning Commons Community Engaged Learning Changemaker Faculty Fellowship (CEL- FF)

The Teaching and Learning Commons Changemaker Faculty Fellows Program in Community Engaged Learning is a year-long faculty development program and formal learning community that provides an opportunity for selected faculty members to integrate community engaged learning (CEL) into their teaching, research, and public service while being recognized as campus leaders in CEL pedagogy. To promote integrative and lifelong learning for students and faculty at UC San Diego, the CEL Faculty Fellows Program is led, funded, and managed by the Teaching and Learning Commons Engaged Teaching and Experiential Learning Hubs, with support from the Changemaker Institute and Faculty Leadership and Development.

Up to eight (8) Changemaker Faculty Fellows will be selected for the 2023-2024 cohort through a competitive review process and will each be awarded a faculty development award of up to $10,000. Fellowship applications for 2023-2024 will open January 30 through March 10, 2023. Learn more and apply here.

Call For Anti-Racist Pedagogy Faculty Proposals

The Teaching + Learning Commons’ Engaged Teaching Hub is pleased to announce the UC San Diego Changemaker Fellows Anti-Racist Pedagogy Learning Community (CF-ARPLC). The CF-ARPLC brings faculty together as co-learners to recognize, discuss, and dismantle racist ideologies and practices embedded in education. Selected faculty receive a $5,000 professional development grant for their participation in the Learning Community.

During the two-quarter long program, participants attend a four-hour orientation and biweekly, two-hour learning community meetings. In these sessions, participants will critically examine their own teaching practices through a racial equity lens, build community with other participants committed to anti-racism, and learn about anti-racist teaching practices to promote the well-being and learning of students, particularly Black, Latinx, Indigenous, and minoritized students at UC San Diego.
