Road to Regeneration: From Waste to Renewal
Wednesday, January 17th, 2024 | 1:00pm- 3:00pm (PST)
Location: Climate Action Lab
This event will feature a panel of various community leaders who are leading the way in waste reduction methods for a more just and sustainable world, starting locally here in San Diego. We will invite students to open the event with a spoken word about climate justice.
Throughout the event, we will have activities relating to the different sectors of waste reduction. Waste reduction and subsequently pollution is important in the fight for social justice because underserved communities are disproportionately affected such as higher asthma rates in Barrio Logan and San Ysidro communities.
Educating students on the positive effects of individual and collective action towards more regenerative practices creates a sense of community not just in UCSD but San Diego as a whole.
